Stair Designs

I will be using these first two designs in the development of the final SketchUp model. The first design represents the word 'warped' and is intended for the above ground studio, while the second represents the word 'protruding' and is intended for the below ground studio. The second two designs were created for the second draft model, however I have chosen to continue with the first model because it has greater potential as a studio and gallery.

The first design provides a constantly changing perspective as the staircase enters through the platform that the above ground studio is composed of. This may be considered a generally 'warped' perspective. Additionally, the staircase appears to be what is considered a 'normal'set of stairs, however each platform has been transformed and moved. Therefore not only is the staircase itself 'warped,' but the experience derived from its design is also somewhat warped.

The second design is quite straightforward. It expressed the word 'protruding' simply by producing platforms which ultimately stick out from a central structure.
